LARGO...from Chopin's Cello Sonata (NEW)
Chopin wrote his Cello Sonata in G Minor in 1846.....Largo is the 3rd. movement from that Sonata. Most people think of Chopin as a piano composer but, he loved the Cello and this sonata was the last of his works to be published in his lifetime. The sonata was written for and dedicated to Auguste Franchomme and Franchomme performed it at Chopin's last public concert on February 16, 1848.
I love playing this movement of the Sonata as it is so romantic and uses the lower register of the cello for dramatic contrasts.....thank you for listening to my music and stopping by my site :-)
