A CELLO SOLILOQUY  OPUS 5 No.1

One day, in some text I was reading, I read the word soliloquy.  I love words and this one caught my attention as it feels good saying it.  I starting thinking  about its meaning....speaking while alone when no one is listening....I know that  word is  applied in  plays but it could be just you ,meandering along a path, thinking and talking out loud....no one can hear your words or thoughts.   One thing usually leads to another with me and I  got this thought about my cello.....what soliloquy would Zadlo sing if he was alone ?  Of course, this lead me to think about writing for  A Cello Soliloquy.   I imagined what voice my cello would use when alone...certainly, it would be his richest and warmest sounds.  I have always thought a cello's sound was serious in tone and smooth but , not sad.  So, my intent for this music was project a feeling serious contemplation but, and overall good feeling when listening.  I hope your ears like it :-)

A variation of this music is also used in a Frost Poem reading on this page....as background to the reading.....The  Road Not Taken.
